Level 2
A Level 2 qualification in Aquaculture requires a candidate to complete 10 units, 7 of which are mandatory in Fin Fish and 6 of which are mandatory in Shellfish. All of the pathways within an SVQ are relevant to a specific sector in the aquaculture Industry. This is undertaken in the workplace to assess a candidate’s competence whilst they are doing their job.
The pathways involved in an Aquaculture Level 2 qualification are:
- Fin Fish
- Shellfish
All candidates will also be required to complete 5 core skills if they have not already done so at school or college at Access 3 level. They are:
- Communication
- Numeracy
- IT
- Problem Solving
- Working with Others
Another requirement at Level 2 is for all candidates to carry out a Health and Safety and Food Hygiene test paper.
