Aquaculture MA

An Aquaculture SVQ or Modern Apprenticeship can give your employees the confidence and knowledge to do their work well. You can be sure that employees are following best practice and are properly trained for their roles.

Aquaculture involves the farming of aquatic organisms in inland and coastal areas, including intervention in the rearing process to enhance production and the individual or corporate ownership of the stock being cultivated. There are two main streams of work involved in the aquaculture industry: intensive and extensive farming. Intensive farming involve species such as salmon, trout, halibut and cod. Extensive farming involve species such as scallop, mussel and cockles.

Both the Level 2 & Level 3 qualifications are undertaken in the workplace and assess a candidate’s competence whilst they are doing their job. Both qualifications are funded by the government so there is no cost to you.

Some assessors can find it to be a lot of work.

Remember to make sure the qualification aligns to your assessment process, or it might not go as well as you hoped!

Scottish Qualifications Authority - Assessor Qualification
Learning and Development 9Di Award

Immediate starts available for online learning and webinar support to achieve the internationally recognised SQA L&D 9Di Assessor Award. The qualification is suitable for people who assess the competence of individuals within a competency based assessment system. Learners are supported by a dedicated Polaris Learning consultant while they work through the 7 online learning modules and collate their evidence.

Scottish Qualifications Authority - Internal Verifier Qualification
Learning and Development 11 Award

Starting in January and February, online learning and webinar support to achieve the internationally recognised SQA L&D 11 Verifier Award. The qualification is for people who are responsible for internally verifying the quality of assessment undertaken within their organisation. Learners will work through 6 online modules, collate their evidence, and are supported by a dedicated Polaris Learning consultant.
